 One of the left halls { ground floor} at the museum of Islamic ceramics includes master pieces of pots, and tiles of the Turkish ceramics.

From these tiles – that have been used to cover the wall of mosques and buildings at that time – one can observe accuracy and skillfulness in using decoration as: Texts’ Geometric formations, Plants, Natural flowers, Arabesque, in addition to lotus. They used, white, blue, turquoise, yellow, green and violet colors. This industry moved side by side with ceramics pots at 16th – 17th century which was produced in Iznik city.

Iznik city is considered one of the greatest Islamic ceramics producing centers of the ottoman era (16th - 17th centry ) and both of "Roose and Dimashk "ceramics were related to Asia and used the same materials .

         

The shapes of the pottery were the same as : niche ,beaker, cups, jars ,plates that decorated from one focus, the stems with beautiful different flowers leaves spread on the surface .

 

The common colors for both kinds were :

Blue, turquoise, green, olive -green, and the black for delineation of the decoration . The difference between them was that 'Dimashk ceramics " have used the red colour; and similarity were in some small differences in using some drawings.

The drawings which were used : palms , cypress tree , grapes, pomegranate, lotus, narcissus, carnation iris, chinese clouds, tulip, sometimes they puts red dots on the leave to be like stars .

Other decorations were Arabesque rounded with flowers ,ships, animals as lions ,deers, rabbits, birds, scales, and geometric formation ; Moreover, they used religious texts on oil lamps .

          There were many things that separate decorations as

Frames on the jars’ edges which was consisted of flowers between leaves or curved line or shells’ shape.

After the 17th century ceramic spread in many other Turkish places as "kutahia city" which was known by producing jugs , beakers, vases, boxes’ plates; cups and others, The museum of Islamic ceramics exhibit special group of other ceramic works distinguished with their colours as red, green, blue, violet and the yellow which spreaded in that kind of ceramics.
